The voices of the Weavers, Peter Paul and Mary, Joan Baez and Bob Dylan were the backdrop of days when Sundays were spent at peace vigils in front of City Hall. And I learned, as a child, that there were certain things worth going to jail for. And I remember clearly wading through crowds getting to the Mountain Theater on Mount Tamalpais to hear Pete Seeger. His voice, in my mind, carries the same comfort as a mother's voice from within the womb. And more than any literal understanding, I knew this was important stuff. <br />Far later, after years spent away from my roots I arrived back home in my mother's house at the end of my first day at the San Francisco International Orff Course in 2009.
