After some 16 hours of travel, here I am back at my desk in my San Francisco home. So happy to answer e-mails on the computer with all my fingers rather than just my thumbs on my phone and have computer access to my Blog, Facebook, WhatsApp etc. It’s a sunny day in San Francisco and at 6:00 pm, hoping to stay awake long enough to try to fool jet lag. That always amazing feeling that this very morning I was walking in the park visiting the Temple of Heaven in Beijing.
At any rate, I promised, dear reader, that I’d “see you in September” and here it is September and here I am. As I did last year, I’ll put the blogposts in the order from the first day of travel to the last and if you can imagine reading them in one or two sessions, that would make the most sense. I’ve dated each one to be clear. Nothing in these posts that I haven’t said before, no profound insights that must be said or the world would be poorer. But in keeping with the Blog title, my ongoing thoughts and experiences as a traveling music teacher, including a few moments of confession about the state of my soul. Re-reading it as I post, I'm reminded about what a remarkable time it has been.
Pull up an armchair, brew a pot of jasmine tea and enjoy the trip!
