Continuing yesterday’s theme. I made the terrible
mistake of watching a short video on Facebook of the rich Repugnantcans
smirking and smiling about their tax victory, so smug and self-satisfied that
they would have yet more money they don’t need while others will suffer. All
the while hiding under some hypocritical cloak of being good Christian
churchgoers.
I don’t think rich people are inherently evil,
but for the most part, they’ve put all their energy into laying up treasures on
earth and mostly by climbing on the backs of others, always looking to get
ahead and increase their material wealth, status and power at the expense of
others. Just like Jesus.
Oh wait. Did I get that wrong? Wasn’t Jesus
walking around barefoot depending upon the lilies of the field and hanging out
with the poor and the meek and throwing the moneylenders out of the temple?
Didn’t he say that it is “easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a
needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven?” (Matthew 19:24)
And so, you rich smug bastards led by the worst
of them all, I know I shouldn’t gloat over this prospect, but unless you
figured out that camel through the needle trick, I hope some Facebook post in
Satan’s domain will show your faces when you’re burning in eternal hellfire.
Don’t think you will be smirking and smiling then.
Repent! Before it’s too late. Like now.
