Selective Outrage

Amidst all the furor about the Charlie Kirk shooting, I wonder why the nation and the media didn’t explode with the same outrage at the murder of hundreds of innocent school children in hundreds of school shootings. Why aren’t their names household words? I wonder why the same outrage didn’t surface at the hundreds of innocent black people murdered by the police. Again, how many Americans know their names? I wonder why we exulted at the murder of Saddam Hussein who preached violence and hatred but now are called to task by self-righteous hypocrites who seek to canonize Kirk and demonize anyone expressing something other than outrage at his death. I wonder why the media gives so much airtime to hatemongers for their own profit (“if it bleeds, it leads”) and ignores shining the light on the millions of people trying to lead with love.

Just wondering.
