I
tend to be a kind of "Ah, but a man's
reach should exceed
his grasp, Or
what's a heaven for?" guy, but sometimes heaven is a lot closer than we think. In the past week, I was made happy time and time again by the smallest things. Mostly shopping. As follows:
• Got my glasses fixed.
• Got the car washed.
• Got a new bike tire.
• Got some long-overdue new blue jeans.
• Got three pairs of socks.
• Got a new pair of sunglasses.
• Got a small box of paper clips.
My big disappointment? Went to Blick’s Art Supplies, the last
remaining store that carries my beloved Niji Stylist pens. Their system said
they had five left, but the bin was empty. I have to wait for them to re-order. Darn!
Small purchases, simple pleasures. Heaven in a box of paper clips.
And now back to saving the world.
