After two weeks of non-stop epiphanies, I opted to spend the morning hanging around the pool. Swimming, reading, chatting with folks, even did a Crostic puzzle. Then a group of us watched the Brazil-Mexico World Cup game, made more interesting by our equal allegiance to Thiago from Brazil and Miguelito from Mexico. Then more pool time, dinner and a lovely closing circle with people speaking from the heart about what this trip meant to them. Followed by dancing to the hotel’s house band and then their generous offer to let us play a few tunes.
So no big “A-ha!” moments, only a few tears in the circle sharing, no deep insights into what will heal this broken world. Just a summer’s day at the pool.
And it was glorious.
